IN ASSOCIATION WITH
Four ELEGANT JEWELLERY STYLES
At Who What Wear UK, we can’t get enough of jewellery. Whilst some of us are more partial to pared-back, simple pieces and others like to make a statement with sparkles or coloured stones, Welsh brand Clogau has an array of classic styles fit for every taste.
If you’re unfamiliar with Clogau, let me fill you in. A heritage brand sourcing gold from Clogau St David’s gold mine, it produced its first collection in 1994 and has since grown exponentially, with several stores around Wales and beyond.
Known for its close relationship with the British royal family, each piece of jewellery made by Clogau contains rare Welsh gold, which has been used for generations of royal wedding and engagement rings (including those belonging to Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth II).
PROMOTIONAL FEATURE | WORDS: Rebecca Rhys-Evans
“Whether you’re a minimalist,
a maximalist or have a magpie-level eye for pieces that sparkle, some jewellery styles are just timeless.”
“But how do you shop jewellery like a fashion editor? Whether you’re looking for the perfect Valentine’s Day surprise, or seeking timeless pieces to gift yourself, we always suggest considering personal taste and style, whether this is bold and bright or simple and elegant.”
If you’re after something quietly understated and minimal, look to the Tree of
Life collection. Available in both silver and 9ct gold and in an array of pendants, bracelets, earrings and rings, the series is deeply connected to nature and symbolises renewal and growth. A personal favourite from the collection is the Insignia Gold Bangle—the simple design with small rose-gold trees embossed around the exterior feels timeless and versatile, making it an unquestionable
quiet-luxury staple.
Ripples is another line with a classic yet contemporary feel. The juxtaposition of mixed metal hues is ideal for anyone who wears all tones of jewellery and isn’t afraid to layer silver with gold and rose gold. A touch of topaz catches the light, providing a little twinkle without feeling over the top—ideal for those who want jewellery that easily transitions from day to night.
“A standout item from the collection is the
Insignia Gold Bangle—the simple design with small rose-gold trees embossed around the exterior feel timeless, making it a quiet-luxury staple.”

If you’re less about subtlety and more about making a statement, coloured stones are the way forward. Reflections of Padarn, which features vibrant green hues of malachite, is a standout collection. In recent seasons there has been a growing interest in gold rings with chunkier silhouettes, and both styles in this collection—the rectangular ring with its almost Art-Deco setting and the classic signet—are fit for the most stylish fingers.

We couldn’t talk about jewellery trends and not mention diamonds. Inspired by the bubbles in champagne, it’s clear what Clogau’s Celebration collection is good for. Valentine’s Day, graduation, big birthdays or engagements (the Celebration Silver Single Stone Ring would be a perfect “bling ring” for proposals for any brides who would like to select their own ring)—this series is definitely for those who like their jewellery to sparkle. Featuring both 9ct gold, rose gold and silver options in simple yet sophisticated pavé settings, Clogau’s laboratory-grown diamonds take centre stage. What I love most about this collection is that although it features multiple diamonds, it still feels contemporary and understated, making it easy to layer with other pieces (especially the pendant). For the romantics wanting more of a love message, the Always in My Heart diamond series is another contender.

OPULENT PEARLS
As much as I love diamonds and statement stones, pearls will always be
my go-to. Although once thought of as quite traditional, pearls have been reinterpreted in recent years—they remain timeless but are now embraced by
a younger generation, as well as the style set. Look to street style photographs
from the bi-annual fashion weeks and you will see editors, influencers and stylists wearing pearls on their necks and ears. Feeling whimsical and almost ethereal,
we love them styled with ribbons, cashmere knits and silk. Clogau’s Welsh Beachcomber collection offers some beautiful pearl designs that evoke
the shorelines of Wales. For work or play, style them with other simple silver
pieces (like chain necklaces or a bangle) and soft fabrics so the pearls
are always the focus.
